Abstract Submission Overview

The Scientific Committee welcomes the submission of abstracts for presentation at the 9th WASOG Meeting & 11th BAL International Conference.

Guidelines for Submission

Given that the abstracts will be reproduced in the Abstract Book exactly in the form they are submitted, authors are kindly requested to adhere to the following guidelines:

  • The abstract length should not exceed 250 words. Written in Tahoma, and 10 cpi letters fully justified.
  • The title of the abstract should be typed in UPPER CASE and should fully reflect the content of the abstract body.
  • Authors' names should be typed in sentence case, on minuscule and capital letters, the last name preceding the first name's initial. Last name and the Presenting author's name should be, mentioned first in bold. i.e. Smith J.
  • The abstract text above the authors' names should be filled both in minuscule and capital letters, as well as the work place of each author and the town. The above should take ascending numerical order, correlate to the order the names of the authors are written. i.e. Smith J.1, Bower J.2

  • Single line spacing should be applied between title, authors', author's work place and abstract text.
  • The abstract should be as informative as possible:
    • a) State specific object of study
    • b) State method used if pertinent
    • c) Summarize results obtained
    • d) State conclusion reached
  • Standard abbreviations may be used in the abstract if such abbreviations are defined when they are first-mentioned . Tables and diagrams can also be used, as long as they will not go beyond the prescribed text margins and will not exceed 250 words in total.
  • Supplementary data (Possible changes additions or corrections) will not be accepted after the abstract submission, under any circumstances.
  • The background and goals of the study should appear clearly to the reader. The methods and results must contain data and the conclusions should be clearly expressed.
  • Abstracts having insufficient data or including phrases such as "the conclusions are to be discussed" or "the evidence will be presented" etc. will not be accepted.
  • Abstracts should contain only original material not published or presented elsewhere.
  • Abstracts must be submitted in English. Please use UK English spelling.

 

General information for Abstracts

  • Abstracts submitted after May 9th, 2008 will not be accepted.
  • Abstracts are accepted on the condition that at least the presenting author has paid the registration fee. In case of many presentations by the same author, another author should be registered for each abstract, otherwise abstracts will be rejected automatically by the system.
  • The Scientific Committee of the Congress will decide as to how each abstract will be presented (oral or poster presentation).

ABSTRACTS SUBMITTED BY FAX WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
